Performing Arts
Performing Arts is a key component of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and plays a vital role in enriching every student’s school experience. Through weekly classes, students engage in Dance, Drama and Music, exploring and expressing ideas while developing technical skills specific to each discipline.
Learning experiences are sequenced from Foundation to Year 6, building students’ understanding of the elements of the Arts — including rhythm and pitch in Music, role and character in Drama, and space and dynamics in Dance. Students plan, rehearse and refine their work, using feedback from teachers and peers to strengthen their performances.
Lilydale is equipped with a wide range of instruments, including percussion, African drums, xylophones, ukuleles, guitars and keyboards. We also have a Years 3–6 choir that meets weekly and performs at school events and within the wider community.

In alternating years, Lilydale Primary proudly presents a Whole School Production and takes part in a 'Lilydale's Got Talent' Show. We conclude each year with a Christmas BBQ, where families enjoy carols performed by all year levels.

We are also pleased to host IROCK Music School, which provides students with the opportunity to receive instrumental lessons during the school day.
